Driving into Rhodes Town can be tricky in high season, but you don't have to pay for parking. The Municipality of Rhodes offers a large free parking area at Akantia, right next to the old commercial port, along with a free mini bus to the city centre.
- Where to park: Akantia municipal parking area, a few minutes' drive from the Medieval Town.
- How to get to the centre: A free mini bus runs every 20 minutes, stopping at the Medieval Moat, the Tourist Port, Kolona, the Twin Kiosks and City Hall. Total travel time is around 20 minutes.
- Late nights: A night express service connects Kolona and Akantia after 22:00, so you can stay out in the Old Town and still get back to your car.
- Cost: Both the parking and the bus are completely free.
Full timetables for weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and the night service are on the Municipality of Rhodes website.
